●Umezuki Natsume is a copy of a design preferred by the 14th head of the Urasenke school, Tantansai.
This natsume depicts the plum blossoms, an early sign of spring, and the plum blossoms with their faint fragrance in the dim moonlight, both elegant and powerful. It is a stylish touch that the plum blossoms shine gold only in the areas lit by the silver-gray moon.
A design that accurately expresses the atmosphere of plum blossoms.
The original work is Seju Ikkan, which is a design based on a poem by the Chinese poet Mei Wan Jing (Rinnasei) on tea utensils.
This is a collaborative work between Gensai Sotetsu and Ikkan, and the poem on which it is based is inscribed on the inside of the lid: "Dark Fragrance, Floating Moon in Twilight."

His grandfather was the traditional Kaga Maki-e artist Koichi Kawakita, and his father studied under the Living National Treasure Ryozo Kawakita, and together they produced tea caddies and his father also produced tea utensils.
Nakamura Soyo studied under his father and also studied under his teacher, Toyoshima Bunshu, who had trained the Nitten artist Ikeda Kiichi, for over 20 years.
