Born in Yamanaka-cho, Ishikawa Prefecture in 1932. Learned lacquerware for tea utensils from his father in 1946. Since then, he has devoted himself to studying this field. In 1979, he won the Hayashino Town Mayor's Award at the National Lacquerware Exhibition held at the Mitsukoshi Main Store in Tokyo. In 1982, he won the Governor's Award at the National Lacquerware Exhibition held at the Mitsukoshi Main Store in Tokyo. In 1983, he won the Lacquerware Association Award at the National Lacquerware Exhibition held at the Mitsukoshi Main Store in Tokyo.
