Born in 1942 in Shirako Town, Kawage County.
The eldest son of his father, Akio Nakajo His father handed over the family business of Shinto priest to his younger brother, and while working as a teacher at Yokkaichi Commercial School, he became a collector of Banko ware and antique pottery.
He entered and graduated from Nagoya Institute of Technology, and later worked in ceramics technology development research at Miyao Shoten.
After leaving the company, he joined the Japan Ceramic Designers Association and is currently working at a kiln at the foot of the Suzuka Mountains.
