The founder of Shuhogama, Chiba Yoshizo, was an active painter of blue and white porcelain in the mid-Meiji period in Aizu Hongo ware, Fukushima Prefecture. He was praised as a rare master, and went by the pen name "Senzan," and also worked on colored porcelain pieces.
[1st generation Shuho]
Yoshizo's third son, Chiba Shiro (Takeuchi Shiro), moved to Imakumano, Higashiyama, Kyoto before the war and started producing blue and white porcelain under the pen name "Shuho." After the war, he not only produced blue and white porcelain but also Kochi pieces.
[Second generation Shuho]
Takeuchi Keikichirou seems to have created many works that combine Kouchi porcelain and blue and white porcelain.
*It seems that he is the creator of the "Koshi Butterfly" design, which became a standard Koshi design.
[Third generation Hidemine (real name: Shinji)]
The business has been inherited by Shinji Takeuchi, the son of Keikichirou.
