陶磁器上絵付業を営む家に生まれ、父初代翠嵐に師事
昭和49年 2代 翠嵐を襲名
昭和59年 第06回京都・清水焼展グランプリ受賞
第09回全国伝統的工芸展ＮＨＫ会長賞受賞
昭和62年 京都・清水焼伝統工芸士に認定
平成05年 125年ぶりの海外展「現代の京焼・清水焼パリ展」に出品、同展実行委員長を務める
平成15年 京の名工 京都府伝統産業優秀技術者賞
平成22年 現代の名工（卓越した技能者） 厚生労働大臣賞を授かる
以後多数の個展・展示会を開催し活躍中
次代の娘も作陶中
