----------
Fushimi Castle in Kyoto was built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, but was abandoned in 1623 (Genwa 9). Peach trees were planted on the site, and it came to be called Momoyama. In 1971 (Showa 46), a kiln was built in Nakaoka Etchu Kitamachi, which is said to be the former residence of Hosokawa Etchu no Kami (Lord Sansai).
Since then, he has been devoting himself to making Kyoto ware tea ceremony utensils.
