Born in Kyoto in 1943
Suegama potter who revived the Suegama kiln, which flourished as a kiln for the Kuroda clan in Fukuoka, during the Showa period
Graduated from Tamagawa University Faculty of Agriculture in 1967
Studied under the 12th Nakazato Muan (Living National Treasure) and the 13th Nakazato Tarouemon
Kaneshige Sozan (Prefectural Intangible Cultural Property) (1909-1995), learned tea ceremony pottery from the younger brother of Living National Treasure Kaneshige Toyo, and further learned tea ceremony pottery from his father, Shigenobu (Fudoan).
In 1972, he built a split bamboo climbing kiln in Sarayama, Suemachi, Fukuoka Prefecture, and became independent.
Full member of the Japan Crafts Association Kiln name: Suegama
