●What is the Tea Jutoku Incense Container? The original is an incense container with a design that was to the liking of Ii Naosuke, and is in the shape of a wisteria flower with a silver ring around the opening. Making use of the mulberry wood, the words "Tea Jutoku" are inscribed on the top and Naosuke's signature is inscribed in lacquer on the inside of the lid. Naosuke showed a draft of the words "Tea Jutoku" to his Zen teacher, Zen Master Sen'ei of Seiryoji Temple in Hikone, and asked for his opinion, and later incorporated them into the ground pattern of the kettle.
