It is used by laying camellia leaves on it.
Buriburi resembles an octagonal mallet in shape and is used as a lucky charm for hitting a ball. It is often used as an indoor decoration at the beginning of the year to ward off evil spirits.
It was also said to have been a children's toy, with wheels attached to both sides and used to pull it.
