●菊蟹とは…菊＝華（お目出度い花の代表）・蟹＝甲
華甲（かこう）に見立てています。
華甲とは…還暦と緑寿(ろくじゅ)のお祝い
「華」という字を分解すると十が6つと一が１つあり、計61となります。
「甲」とは、干支の第一番目の甲子(きのえね)の甲で、物事の初めという意味

父は茶道具も制作する。
中村宗尹は父に師事、また、日展作家池田喜一を育てた豊島文州氏の師事の下、永年師事研鑽する。
