Father: Under the tutelage of Kiyomine, he aspired to become a traditional Yamanaka lacquer maker, mastered the techniques of undercoating and lacquering, and began creating tea utensils.
1978 (Showa 53): Takes on the name of the second Hosai
Lacquer artist: Studied under his father, Seiho Yamashita
