Born in Kyoto in 1932 (Showa 7) Graduated from Kyoto Hiyoshigaoka High School Enrolled in the lacquer art department of Tokyo University of the Arts and graduated. Studied one year at the Tokyo University of the Arts Special Course and completed the course. 1972 Received the Japan Contemporary Crafts Award. 1973 Received the special prize at the Nitten Exhibition and later became a judge. 1977 Received the Museum of Art Award at Hakone Open-Air Museum. 1988 Engaged in planning and production of the sculptures and presentations for the history exhibition room at the Kyoto Museum of Art in Kyoto Prefecture. 1993 Received the Prime Minister's Award.
