Born in 1942. At the age of 15, in 1946, he was taught the art of lathing by his father, Eijiro. In 1970, he made a Jyurin-kikikomi inlaid natsume (a type of tea ceremony teapot) using Chinese wood and sooted bamboo. He received design instruction from Kodo Himi, a holder of the Important Intangible Cultural Property. He was born in Yamanaka Onsen City, Ishikawa Prefecture. In 1979, he became a full member of the Japan Crafts Council and a master of lathe turning for Yamanaka lacquerware. In 1985, he received the Japan Crafts Council President's Award (by Prince Takamatsu). He explained the Jyurin-kikikomi inlay technique to the Crown Prince and Princess.
