Born in Kyoto in 1959. Graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Doshisha University in 1982. Completed the Pottery Course for Cultivating Successors to Traditional Industries at the Kyoto City Industrial Research Institute in 1983. Graduated from the Molding Department at the Kyoto Prefecture Pottery Training School in 1984. Studied under his grandfather and father, Rakuiri. Founded and headed the Rakuiri Kiln in 1989. Received the "Jusei" seal from the head priest of Sennyuji Temple, Kumagai Ryusho, in 2000. Certified as a traditional craftsman in 2001. Succeeded in the name of Yoshimura Rakuiri, the 3rd generation of Manpukudo, in 2004.
