●Jubenjugi (The Ten Convenient and Ten Suitable Things)...A collaboration between Ike Taiga and Yosa Buson, who are said to be the masters of Japanese literati painting.
The painting is based on the poetic meaning of a poem (Poem of the Ten Conveniences and the Twelve Appropriatenesses) praising the comfort and convenience of life at Yiyuan, the villa of Li Yu, a scholar of the early Qing Dynasty. The ten conveniences are painted by Taiga, and ten of the twelve appropriatenesses are painted by Buson.
In "Jippen," Taiga depicts in a grand, relaxed style the human interaction with nature and the subtleties of that interaction, rich in individuality and in response to a visitor who asks about the inconveniences of secluded life in Isono, to which the protagonist replies that it is far more convenient than life on the streets.

Received the Governor's Award at the Long-Term Technician Course Japanese Painting Exhibition
1981: Awarded the Japan Nanga Academy Prize for Excellence
In 1983, he opened Tosho Kiln in Higashiyama, Kyoto.
1985: Awarded the Japan Nanga Academy Prize for Excellence
In 1992, he was selected for the Tankosha Biennale Tea Ceremony Art Exhibition.
In 1994, he held a solo exhibition at the Osaka Asahi Gallery.
In 1996, he was certified as a traditional craftsman.
