●What is Fukizumi?...It is one of the painting techniques.
Paint or gosu dissolved in water is misted into a spray bottle or a fine sieve by quickly rubbing a stiff-bristled brush through it, and the pattern is applied to the base.
There was a technique called fukiboku (blown ink) that was already being used in blue and white porcelain (the Chinese name for blue and white porcelain) during the Yuan Dynasty in China, and this technique was imitated by Imari.
