[First generation: Chotaro Ichinose] 1885: Started business as a copper casting craftsman [Second generation: Soemon (Muneshin)]
In 1890, he became a hidden craftsman for Hatano Shohei (currently the head family of Hata Soroku in Kyoto) of Kamebundo in Notogawa-cho, Shiga Prefecture, and was active during the Meiji, Taisho and early Showa periods. During this time, he won a gold medal at the Anglo-Japanese Alliance Exhibition, as well as special selections and grand prizes at the World Exposition, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Exhibition, the Bunten Exhibition, the Imperial Exhibition, and others. Master Soshin (Tatsuo) Succeeded the previous master Soshin and trained in Kyoto during his childhood, where he learned the finest of copperware, as well as metalwork and coloring of tea utensils and flower vases.
He later exhibited at the Japanese Art Tea and Flower Utensils Promotion Exhibition and received the Minister of Education Award in 1963 and 1973. He is a member of the Toyama Artists Association, a member of the Takaoka City Artists Association, and a director of the Takaoka Art Friendship Association.
