Born in Kyoto in 1950 as the eldest son of the 4th Tokosai
In 1983, he was certified as a first-class craftsman (braided bamboo crafts) by the Minister of Labor.
1983: Becomes a vocational training instructor (bamboo crafts)
In 1985, he was given the name Shochiku by Master Fukushu Noguchi.

[Matsumoto Tokosai] (Kyoto artist)
Born in Kyoto in 1984 as the eldest son of Matsumoto Shochiku.
In 2013, he studied under his father, Matsumoto Shotoku, and completed his studies at the Oita Prefecture Bamboo Crafts Training Support Center.
2016: Tokosai assumed the name
2017 Solo exhibition at department stores in Kyoto
