Born in 1948, he began training as a tea ceremony basket maker in 1978. After becoming independent as a tea ceremony basket maker in 1980, he started making original baskets, Chinese-style baskets, and Japanese-style baskets. In 1981, he held his first solo exhibition at Nagoya Mitsukoshi, and has since held solo exhibitions at Mitsukoshi, Kokura Izutsuya, and other places around the country.
