[Matsumoto Tokosai] (Kyoto artist) (Matsumoto Shochiku: Parent)
Born in Kyoto in 1984 as the eldest son of Matsumoto Shochiku. Graduated from the Oita Prefecture Bamboo Craft Training Support Center in 2013. Became a disciple of his father, Matsumoto Shochiku. In 2016, he took on the name Tokosai. In 2017, he held a solo exhibition at a department store in Kyoto.

Certified as a first-class craftsman (braided bamboo crafts) by the Minister of Labor in 1983. Became a vocational training instructor (bamboo crafts) in 1983.
