● Ayakareya (Ayakareya)… Joshinsai’s poem “Ayakareya, the Nagatoboku’s lottery is not drawn.”
In the Yamahoko procession, the Naginata Hoko always leads the way, no matter what.
Since the lead was decided without a lottery,
It means the pride of being determined to always be at the forefront.

Kuji is a traditional ceremony in which the order of the floats in the procession is decided by drawing lots.
Not all floats draw lots, and some have their order decided in advance without drawing lots; this is called "kujitorirazu."
The number and order of the floats have changed over the years, but currently there are five for the "maematsuri" and four for the "atomatsuri."
In the preliminary festival, the first Nagatsuchi Hoko, the fifth Kankoku Hoko, the 21st Hoka Hoko, the 22nd Iwatoyama, the 23rd Funaboko (the last of the preliminary festival processions),
During the Ato Matsuri procession, the leading Hashibenkeiyama, the second Kita Kannonyama, the sixth Minami Kannonyama, and the tenth Ofuneboko (the last of the Ato Matsuri procession) are the ones that do not draw lots.
