●Juzan Banjo Takashi [Juzan Banjo Takashi]…Long life and great fortune. This is a word used to respect the elderly.
Shoushan refers to Mount Zhongnan (South Mountain), located south of Xi'an (formerly Chang'an) in China.
Nanshan was a place of seclusion for many hermits and seekers of truth, and it is considered to be solid and immovable, a symbol of longevity and lasting achievements, and is often hung at celebratory occasions.
----------
●Bentoshi: Paper that was brought over from China, or paper made to imitate it, collectively known as karakami, and in particular this refers to the red paper.
During the Heian period, it was used as highly decorative paper for calligraphy and letters.
It absorbs ink well, which is why it is well suited to expressing blurring and smudging.
From around the Middle Ages onwards, it was primarily used as a type of processed paper to be pasted on sliding doors.
In terms of place of production and characteristics, paper can be divided into two categories: Kyoto paper and Edo paper.
Influenced by Zen culture, which places great importance on individuality, the heads of the tea ceremony schools had their favorite patterns carved into woodblocks and their own original paper coverings pasted on the tea rooms.
