Studied under his grandfather, the 9th generation Sora-mi, and his father, the 10th generation Sora-cho
In 1960, my grandfather, Urakami, and the following year my father, Uracho, passed away, so in the same year, the 7th generation, Sumiemon, took over the business.
In 1971, he took on the name of the 11th generation Rakuzan potter, Sumiemon (pen name: Nagaoka Kuuken).
