●What is the Usotori (family: Fringillidae, Passeriformes)? Its name is said to come from an archaic word meaning "whistle" because its cry resembles a whistle.
Origin
There is a legend in various places that when Sugawara no Michizane was demoted to Dazaifu, he was attacked by bees and was saved by a flock of bush warblers.

It is called the Uso-kae Shinto ritual, and is said to have originated in the second year of the Kanwa era (986) at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine in Fukuoka.
In the Edo period, this Shinto ritual involved exchanging wooden objects called "wooden bush warblers," or replacing last year's with a new one, and was performed with the intention of "praying for good fortune in the year, turning bad luck into good fortune, and misfortune into good things," in reference to the name of the bird, "uso."
Nowadays, an event is held every January in which wooden Usotori (wooden tits) are lined up to pray for good fortune.
Returning the "lies" you bought the previous year to the shrine and replacing them with new "tori" (birds) is said to bring you good luck for the year. It is also said that by replacing them, you can turn your bad luck into "lies" and bring good fortune.

In 1972, he became a judge for the Fukuoka City Art Exhibition.
October 1975: His representative work, a tea caddy with ears, and two other pieces are stored in the Kitakyushu Civic Art Museum.
October 1975: Princess Mikasa is honored to visit the Miraku Kiln and is given the opportunity to attend the kiln.
In 1976, he served as a judge for the Fukuoka Art Exhibition and a permanent lecturer at the Fukuoka Prefectural Cultural Center.
March 1977: Designated as the first holder of Fukuoka City's intangible cultural heritage craft technique.
In 1977, he became a member of the Fukuoka Art Exhibition Management Committee and a judge for the Fukuoka City Art Exhibition (he also served as a director of the Fukuoka Cultural Federation).
