Born in 1957 in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo.
Graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan Arts High School in 1975
Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1980 with a major in sculpture and fine arts.
After graduating, he worked as a woodworker and lacquerer, a family business that had been passed down for generations.
In 2001, he took on the name of Jihei III and became the 7th generation woodworker.
2009: Production of hearth rims for Myoki-an and Tai-an
Currently participating in the exhibition "Perspectives on Contemporary Crafts: Tea Ceremony" at the Crafts Gallery of the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo
