Born in Kyoto in 1937
He studied under his father, the second generation of Unka-yaki earthenware maker, Sohaku.
Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Pottery Vocational Training School in 1956
Graduated from the Ceramics Department of the Kyoto Municipal Industrial Research Institute in 1957.
In 1975, he took on the name of the 3rd generation Sohaku.
Moved to Tanba in 2001
