He became a disciple of his first teacher, the second generation Ashida Shina (Shishin)
He opened an independent business in Sonezaki, Osaka, as a joiner specializing in the tea ceremony, and took the name Kiyuken.
In 1957, he was given the name Kosai by Tantansai and became a craftsman of the Urasenke school.
[2nd Generation Hagi Kosai]
Born in Osaka in 1944
Graduated from Nisshin Commercial High School
In 1972, he won a prize at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, and has been selected several times since then.
In 1973, he inherited the second Kosai tradition from his father.
