Born in Kyoto in 1970. Father is Suwa Sozan III, mother is Nakamura Sotetsu 12th, third daughter. Graduated from Kyoto Municipal Doda High School of Art and Crafts in 1988. Graduated from Seian Women's Junior College, Department of Art and Design, Graphic Design, Video major, completed specialized course. Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramics Technical College, Molding and Research courses in 1996. Completed Kyoto City Traditional Industry Technician Training Ceramics Course in 1997. Created ceramics with his father. Exhibited at Nakamura Sotetsu exhibitions around the country, joined Tetsu Kobo. In 2002, assumed the name of Suwa Sozan IV. In 2004, held a name-taking exhibition (Sozan Kiln) at Takashimaya Kyoto. Held Suwa Sozan exhibitions around the country.
