[First Generation Omote Kan (real name Bintaro)] Lacquer artist from Kyoto
1904 (Meiji 37) - 1969 (Showa 44)
At the end of the Edo period, he inherited the techniques of the Omote school of Kyoto lacquering, whose founder was Kimura Omotesai, from his grandfather Sentaro.
He studied under Suzuki Omotesaku I (Omotesai II), who inherited the techniques of the Omotesaku school, and inherited the orthodox painting techniques such as Honkataji, Tamuke-nuri, Nunozuri, and Kiji Tamuke-nuri, and took the name of the first Omotesaku.
After the death of the first master, his eldest son Atsushi (1933-2007) and second son Isao (1937-) both took on the name Omotekan and established the Omotekan Workshop.

He inherited the business from his grandfather Sentaro and his father Bintaro (the first Omote Kan), and is the head of Kyoto Lacquerware and is involved in the production of Kyoto lacquerware.

[3rd Generation Kawase Omote Kan (real name Kawase Atsushi)] Pen name 2nd Generation Higashiyama Omote Kan
Born in Kyoto in 1933 (Showa 8) as the eldest son of the first representative, Kan.
In 1993, he participated in the restoration of the sacred treasures at the Ise Grand Shrine's Shikinen Gosengu ceremony. He was awarded the title of "Kyoto Master Craftsman" by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Kyoto Prefecture, and "Contemporary Master Craftsman" by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare. He served as a director of the Japan Traditional Crafts Association, a professor of Kyoto Lacquerware at the Kyoto College of Traditional Crafts, and a member of the Nitten Exhibition.
Passed away in 1995
While inheriting traditional Kyoto lacquering techniques, he is also engaged in creative activities that are in tune with the modern era, such as creating new lacquerware using new materials.

1985, Kyoto City Industrial Research Institute, Makie Kaso (Chief instructor: Lacquer artist Kyohei Mizuuchi)
1987: Graduated from Kyoto College of Art and Design as a ceramic artist (now Kyoto University of Art and Design)
1991: Kyoto City Industrial Testing Center Makie Kaso (Chief lecturer: lacquer artist Toshito Hattori), Kyoto Lacquerware Store Chairman's Award (hereafter Tetralogy, Chairman's Award)
1992: Selected for the Kyoto Exhibition (and has been selected twice since then)
1999: Organized the Kyoto Emerging Artists Exhibition (held nationwide about 20 times over 7 years by a group of young tea ceremony utensil artists)
2003: Certified Kyoto Lacquer Traditional Craftsman by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry at the Kyoto Takashimaya Art and Crafts Salon Classic
2004: Participated in the design of furnishings for the Kyoto State Guest House (as a craftsman), suffered a cerebral infarction and developed right-sided paralysis (since then, mainly worked with his left hand)
2007 Heisei 19th year 3rd generation Higashiyama front complete succession
Lecturer at the Aoyama Green Academy Kyoto Lacquerware Lecture (hosted by the International Tea Ceremony Association and Urasenke)
2008: Restoration of the Imperial Treasure Cross for the Ise Shrine Ceremony (2008) (work for 20 years later has already been accepted)
