Today we would like to introduce a matcha tea bowl, a copy of Ninsei, with green maple and jade, made by Oga Keishin.

What is Jadeite (River Cicada)?
A species of bird classified in the Alcedinidae family and the Alcedinidae genus.
A small bird that lives near water, it is characterized by its vivid light blue body coloring and long beak, and is sometimes called jade, blue jewel, or in the past, sonidori.

[Oga Keishin]
Born in Kyoto in 1958
1979: Completed the design course at the Kyoto Prefectural Pottery Training School
1980: Studied under Miyagawa Kosai and Nakamura Shuho, learning the general techniques of Ninsei/Kenzan-style painting.
Currently working on making and studying tea ceremony utensils in Kamigamo, Kyoto.
