Born in Kyoto in 1928 - Died in April 2007
He studied under the second Tokuizumi, the sixth Kusube Yaichi, and the sixth Shimizu Rokubei.
In 1946 (Showa 21), he climbed up Uji Coal Mountain from Gojozaka and built a kiln there.
The 509th head priest of Daitokuji Temple, Zuiho-in, was given the name "Shisui" by Master Keido Yoshiguchi.
1977 (Showa 52) Certified as a Kiyomizu-yaki traditional craftsman
1992: Certified as a "Contemporary Master Craftsman" for outstanding traditional craftsmen
Member of the Kyoto Prefecture Artists and Craftsmen Association
Special lecturer at Kyoto City Industrial Research Institute
He mainly produces pottery with a focus on Shozui-sha and Kinran-te.
He worked hard to promote Kyoto ware and nurture the next generation of potters, including as a special lecturer at the Kyoto City Industrial Research Institute.
[4th Generation Tokuizumi]
He studied under the 3rd Tokuizumi and the 6th Shimizu Rokubei.
