Today we will introduce the Hinamatsuri Akahada-yaki Peach incense holder, made by Oshio Shozan.

[4th Generation Oshio Shozan] Akahada ware
Born in 1960 as the eldest son of Oshio Shozan, the third generation Akahada pottery master.
1983, Showa 58, Group ATMS Exhibition (Osaka Art Salon Miyazaki)
Graduated from the Department of Crafts, Ceramics, Osaka University of Arts in 1984.
1985 Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Pottery Technical College, Department of Ceramics (Molding)
1989 Nara Prefecture Young Craft Artists Exhibition (Nara Chamber of Commerce and Industry)
1991 Oshio Shozan Kiln Parent and Child Trio Exhibition
1995 (Heisei 7) Succeeded to the 4th generation
1996 4th generation Oshio Shozan succession exhibition (Shinjuku Mitsukoshi)
European Cultural Heritage certified collection (Paris, France)

[Oshio Keidan] Akahada ware
Member of the Nara Prefecture Crafts Association
Born in 1963 as the second son of Oshio Shozan, the third generation Akahada pottery master.
Graduated from Nara Ikuei High School in 1981
Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Vocational Training School in 1982
Started helping out with the family business at Oshio Shozan, the Akahada pottery manufacturer.
In 1983, he joined the Nara Prefecture Industrial Association Youth Division.
In 1994, the third generation Akahada potter, Oshio Shozan, passed away and became independent as Akahada pottery Oshio Keitan.

[8th Generation Masato Oshio (real name Masayoshi)
Born in Nara in 1933 (Showa 8) to Masato Oshio, the 7th generation Akahada potter.
1964 (Showa 39) Selected for the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition and the Nitten Exhibition for the first time. Selected every year thereafter.
1992: Awarded the Minister of Education Award at the Nitten Exhibition
1994 Solo exhibition at Gallery Nichido, Ginza, Tokyo
1995: Received the Japan Art Academy Prize
Currently a director of the Nitten Exhibition
Executive Director of the Japan Crafts and Arts Exhibition
Member of the Nara Prefecture Artists Association
