Born in Kyoto in 1942 (Showa 17)
1961: Graduated from Kyoto Municipal Hiyoshigaoka High School, Art Department, Ceramic Artist Course
Born into a family that ran a ceramic overglaze business, he studied under his father, the first Suiran
1974 (Showa 49) Succeeded to the name of the second generation Suiran
1984: Won the Grand Prize at the 6th Kyoto Kiyomizu-yaki Exhibition
Winner of the NHK Chairman's Award at the 9th National Traditional Crafts Exhibition
1987: Certified as a Kyoto Kiyomizu-yaki traditional craftsman in Showa 62
In 1993, he exhibited at the first overseas exhibition in 125 years, "Contemporary Kyoto Ware and Kiyomizu Ware in Paris," and served as the exhibition's executive committee chairman.
2003 Kyoto Master Craftsman, Kyoto Prefecture Traditional Industry Excellent Technician Award
2010: Awarded the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Award for Contemporary Master Craftsman (Outstanding Craftsman)
Since then, he has been active in numerous solo exhibitions and exhibitions.
