[Kamei Rakuzan] Takatori ware
Born in Fukuoka in 1945 (Showa 20)
He studied under his elder brother, the 14th generation Kamei Miraku, and began making pottery.
1962: First selected for the Fukuoka Prefectural Art Exhibition, and has been selected continuously ever since.
1972: Received the Mayor's Award at the Fukuoka City Art Exhibition
In 1977, he was given the title "Rakuzan" by the former head priest of Daitokuji Temple, Hiroaki Hokkai.
1980: First selection at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, and selected for the Mainichi Ceramic Art Exhibition
Regular member of the Japan Crafts Association and director of the Hakata branch of the Japan Ceramic Association
1990: Rakuzan Kiln established, branching off from Miraku Kiln
