[Secrets of the Tea Ceremony]
Tea ceremony tools > Tea caddy: Bunrin > Shoulder > Nasu > Taikai
Bunrin is a type of tea caddy that is round in shape.
The name Bunrin comes from its resemblance to an apple.
Bunrin is an elegant name for apples, and is said to come from a story that in the time of Emperor Gaozong, the third emperor of the Tang Dynasty in China, a man named Li Jin presented the emperor with beautiful apples, and the emperor was delighted and appointed Li Jin as the Bunrin-ro.
Bunrin is a typical form of Chinese tea caddy, a small jar with a beautiful shape that has a low steamer and extends from the shoulder to the body. Since ancient times, Nasu and Bunrin have been said to be at the top of Chinese tea caddies, and many famous ones have been handed down.
