What are the specialties of the Chukoh period?
Among tea utensils, those with a long and distinguished history are called meibutsu, and those selected after Kobori Enshu are called chūkō meibutsu.
During his time as Kobori Enshu, he not only worked on Seto kilns, but also selected particularly outstanding new works through his own research and appraisal, giving them names from ancient poems, and incorporating his own preferences into the design of his wares and tooth covers.
