What is Shakuyaku?
A perennial plant native to Asia that is often likened to the appearance of a beautiful woman.
Flowering season is May to June
・When she stands she is like a peony, when she sits she is like a peony, when she walks she is like a lily
This proverb is an example of the posture and behavior of beautiful women. The peony, with its flowers blooming at the end of a slender stem, is said to represent a standing woman, the peony, with its flowers blooming on branching horizontally, represents a seated woman, and the lily, with its beautiful appearance as it sways in the wind, represents a woman walking.
